Learning My Way Montessori

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 100,000 fewer child-care workers than there were before the coronavirus pandemic. Keshia English, owner of Learning My Way Montessori, a daycare center in Philadelphia knows this all too well. The pandemic proved to be a major challenge for the childcare industry. Childcare workers, who are mostly women of modest income means, left the industry during the pandemic in search of higher pay, leaving childcare providers like Learning My Way Montessori with available slots for children but not enough employees to provide care.

With the help of a $5,000 Rebound Loan from Entrepreneur Works, Keshia was able to create two full time jobs and one part-time job enabling Learning My Way Montessori to become a 24-hour facility and better serve the needs of its family customers. Keshia also improved her financial management and marketing skills by participating in Entrepreneur Works’ Business Technical Assistance Program and Digital Marketing Workshop Series.
